a missed opportunity on day 7

Today I did something different. I bundled my kids up..brought them outside in the + 5 sunshine and let them burn energy. Their colds are pretty much non existent..just runny light green to clear noses. And I REALLY bundled them. They were sweaty when we got home.

Well I rarely get a chance to push my camera and try new things. Since having it I have had to wear a baby, or push a stroller..or just carry a bunch of crap along with my camera around. So Ive been leaving it at home and not really getting the opportunity to play. And let me tell you..indoor lighting can look so divine and lovely..but it is hard to master..and I suck.

I have read that outdoor lighting is hard to master too..more shadows, less control, more setting changes. All of this is the truth. BUT today I decided to try. I was sure that the snow would be amazing. and I was right. it absolutely was.

My very first picture was just gauging my light in that spot..which turned out to be a poor one for my kids and  where they wanted to play. So I turned the camera on and decided to play with aperture and Shutter speed. ( I never touch my Aperture..it is always on the lowest because of my the lighting in my house). I turned my shutter speed to 1/800.  fast..esp for kids.my ISO remained at 400 (usually low for me) and my Fstop was 9. I got the clearest picture of my life. it came out of the camera perfectly coloured. It needed nothing at all. Unfortunately after that I started taking advantage of my ability to low ball my ISO..which also brings down your shutter speed. And I am afraid I will never be this excited over clarity again..now all my shots look soft and crappy to me LOL.
The part that blows the most is the super clear shot....not even a snap shot.

 oh she had fun!!

I wont lie..he was miserable..he didnt like the weight of his snow suit
she is so pretty..even with a snot dried face LOL..and a shutter speed of 1/400..which I USED to think was amazing..but..alas..
 driving the playground

really unhappy..being moved to the stroller soon lol
he will NOT keep his hat on

Sophia was very reluctant to go home..so we walked after the park..but when she refused to put her mitts back on..I bribed her with cookies to go home... Anthony needed to nap anyways lol
